Privacy policy
How Compiler (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit usecompiler.com or get in touch with us.

Who we are
Compiler is based in Australia. If you have a question about this policy, or want us to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, email ryan@usecompiler.com and we’ll respond promptly.
What we collect
When you send our contact form, we collect your name, work email, company (if you give it), the topic you choose and your message. We use it to reply to you. The form is delivered to our team in Slack.
When you book a demo, we collect your name, work email, the time you pick and anything you add to help us prepare. The booking is created in our Google Calendar, which sends you a calendar invite with a Google Meet link. We use it to run the demo and follow up.
We record enquiries and bookings in our CRM, Close, so we can follow up, and may use Make (an automation service) to move information between these tools.
If you create a Compiler account at app.usecompiler.com, your account and repository data are handled under the product’s own terms, which take precedence for that data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site: the pages they view, their approximate location, device and browser type, and how they found us. Google sets cookies to do this.
You can turn analytics off at any time with in the footer, or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies: essential cookies set by our hosting platform, Framer, that the site needs to work, and Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga) used for measurement.
Essential cookies can’t be switched off. You can turn analytics cookies off with in the footer, or in your browser settings. Your choice is saved in your browser so we don’t ask again.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this site and our sales process: Framer (website hosting), Google (analytics, calendar and Google Meet), Slack (where our team receives your contact form messages), Close (our CRM) and Make (automation).
Each processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments. Some of these providers are in the United States, so your information may be transferred to and stored there.
How long we keep it
We keep contact, booking and CRM records for as long as we have an ongoing relationship with you or a legitimate business reason to keep them, and analytics data for the retention period set in Google Analytics (14 months). You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you’re in the EU, the UK or another place with its own privacy laws, you may have more rights, including access, correction, deletion, portability and objecting to processing.
To use any of these, email ryan@usecompiler.com. If you’re not happy with our response, you can complain to your local privacy regulator (in Australia, the OAIC).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here with a new date. We’ll flag material changes on this page.
