Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Compiler ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit usecompiler.com or get in touch with us. Compiler is based in Australia. If you have any questions, or want us to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, email us at ryan@usecompiler.com and we'll respond promptly.

Information you give us

When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company and message. When you book a demo, Calendly collects your name, email and the meeting details you provide. We use this information to respond to you, prepare for and run demos, and follow up. It is stored in our CRM (Close) and delivered there via Make (an automation service).

If you create a Compiler account at app.usecompiler.com, your account and repository data are handled under the product's own terms, which take precedence for that data.

Information collected automatically

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you found us. Google sets cookies for this purpose. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Visitor identification. We use RB2B, a service that attempts to identify business visitors to our site (currently US-based visitors only) by matching your IP address and device signals against its identity database. Where a match is found, RB2B may provide us with your name, business email address, company and LinkedIn profile. We use this solely to understand who is interested in Compiler and, where relevant, to reach out about our product. You can opt out of RB2B's identification at rb2b.com.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies: essential cookies set by our hosting platform (Framer) needed for the site to function, Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga) used for measurement, and RB2B identifiers used for visitor identification. Essential cookies can't be switched off; you can manage analytics and identification cookies via the Cookie Preferences link in the footer, your browser settings, or the opt-outs above.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this site and our sales process: Framer (website hosting and form processing), Google (analytics), RB2B (visitor identification), Make (form automation), Close (CRM) and Calendly (demo scheduling). Each processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Some of these providers are located in the United States, so your information may be transferred and stored there.

How long we keep it

We keep contact and CRM records for as long as we have an ongoing relationship with you or a legitimate business reason to retain them, and analytics data for the retention period configured in Google Analytics (14 months). You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you're in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction with its own privacy laws, you may have additional rights, including access, correction, deletion, portability and objection to processing. To exercise any of these, email ryan@usecompiler.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your local privacy regulator (in Australia, the OAIC).

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
